Entertaiment is any activity that diverts or amuses people in their leisure time. It can be created by individuals who spontaneously invent a game; by participants who actively engage in an entertainment, such as playing a sport; by entertainers who create and present an entertaining act; or by consumers who passively consume entertainment products such as films, recordings or TV shows. Entertainment has come to be associated with fun and laughter, although it may serve a more serious purpose, as in the case of ceremonies, celebrations and religious festivals.
